Toys and Play
Children need time to move through their developmental stages, because each phase is unique, lawful and has its importance, needing to be lived to the fullest. As it is essential to childhood, the role of play deserves to be taken seriously and considered as an opportunity for establishing the basis for further development and education.
Development through play can be supported and protected, by providing uninterrupted and undisturbed time and space; by letting the natural, unfolding magic of learning happen; and having reverence for this evanescent phase of life. As such, something of the essence of our children, and childhood, will be revealed to us, thus aiding our parenting.
Natural objects such as pine cones, stones, branches, etc, are all healthy play elements, but Waldorf inspired toys allow for the unfolding of the full human potential by offering toys that are designed to leave the child’s imagination free, while stimulating at the same time the child's archetypal connection to the world.
