Caring for your Wool/Cashmere Clothing

Washing:

Firstly wool is self-cleaning and so this clothing can be worn quite a while before it needs to be washed.  Sometimes just wiping with a damp cloth is all that a dirty spot needs.  When it is time to wash we suggest using Euclan wool wash.  Simply put this product in the washing machine, select cold water and the gentle/delicate/hand-wash/wool wash cycle.  Then add the wool items.  Let the clothing soak in the cool suds for about 15 minutes; let the cycle run; and then drain the tub.  DO NOT RINSE – just spin out the water.  This leaves the added lanolin on the clothing.  Also, this product has added lavender or eucalyptus oils as a moth repellant.

Drying:

This is the most important step in washing wool.  NEVER PUT WOOL IN THE DRYER.  When laid out flat to dry on a drying rack, the wool clothing dries overnight.  At the end of the season, store the clean wool clothing in a plastic bag, placed in a drawer with a lavender sachet, to repel moths.
